Nicole Hillyard Joins PVA as a Designer and Model Maker

Nicole Hillyard joins Peter Vincent & Associates as an architectural designer and model maker. She has more than three years of design experience and is a LEED accredited professional. She will be responsible for developing and heading the new PVA model shop.

Two PVA Associates Promoted to Senior Associates

Peter Vincent & Associates is pleased to announce the promotion of two Associates to Senior Associates, a first in the firm’s history. Max Guenther joined PVA in 1996 as architect and principal designer of residential and commercial work. Currently, his major projects include custom ocean front homes in Portlock and Kailua Beach, renovation of the Poipu Beach Hotel in Kauai, and the Avocet Beachfront Development, a master planned community near Galveston, TX. Max has more that 21 years of professional experience. Michael Subiaga joined PVA in 1997 and is the project manager for several commercial projects including Maui Divers Jewelry retail stores, a new shopping center in Kapolei, and renovations of the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel, the Waikiki Gateway Hotel, and the Parkshore Club Waikiki. His extensive restaurant experience includes Kona Brewing Company, Brew Moon, Chun Wah Kam, Longhi’s, and Alan Wong’s Pineapple Room. He has more than 17 years of professional experience.

PVA Welcomes New Employees

Peter Vincent & Associates is pleased to announce the addition of the following new team members: Kelvin Ngao (left) joins as PVA as a designer. He has more than 15 years of design experience and holds an Associates degree from Pierce College in Los Angeles. Melody Kolich (center) and Lynnsey Doles (right) join PVA as interior designers. Melody has more than 3 years of commercial design experience and holds a Bachelor of Science and Consumer Sciences Interior Architecture from Ohio University. Lynnsey is primarily a residential interior designer with 9 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts – Interior Design from Chaminade University. Damon Gray, Associate AIA, (seated) joins us as a summer intern. He is currently earning his Architectural Doctorate from the University of Hawaii Manoa. He has 11 years of technical experience and 9 years experience as a project manager.

Four New Team Members Join PVA

PVA is pleased to announce the addition of 4 new members of our team. We are now 28 people strong! Mike Hulser (front center) joins the PVA team as chief financial/operations officer. He has more than 30 years of financial management and business leadership experience. Mark Slivka (right) joins PVA as an architectural designer. He has 4 years of architectural experience. He has a Bachelor of Architecture from the Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. Laura Assum-Dahleen (back center) has been hired as PVA’s office manager. She has more than 20 ears of office and operations management experience and holds a Bachelor of Science in Electro-Mechanical Engineering. Jill Miyashiro (left) joins as PVA’s administrative assistant and receptionist. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Hawaii Pacific University. (tab says February 2006 but page says December 2005) PVA is setting the design standards for the Avocet Beachfront Development, a master planned community located on the Bolivar peninsula, a rugged, natural area with pristine beaches paralleling protected wetland reserves near Galveston, TX. The first phase includes a beach club followed by a community center, golf course clubhouse, and a spa.

Peter Vincent Elected AIA Honolulu 2006 Vice President/2007 President Elect

Peter Vincent, AIA, NCARB has been elected as the American Institute of Architects, Honolulu Chapter 2006 Vice President/2007 President Elect. His vision for the AIA Honolulu will focus on expanding the camaraderie of its membership in order to strengthen all aspects of the organization. "I feel both capable of and challenged by achieving this goal," said Vincent. "I will strive to create a stronger, more productive, and unified chapter to carry the organization into the future." Vincent has long been an AIA member and has served on the AIA Honolulu Board of Directors. Vincent's presidency in 2007 will coincide with the AIA’s 150th anniversary.
